Tire Technicians — Small Business (Full‑Time)

Harmon Tire is a locally owned auto service shop committed to honest, high-quality work and excellent customer service. We specialize in tires, alignments, brakes, and basic maintenance.
Position Summary
We are hiring a reliable Tire Technician to perform tire mounting, balancing, rotation, repairs, and assist with vehicle services. Ideal for a motivated, safety‑minded candidate who works well in a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mount, dismount, and balance tires for cars, light trucks, and SUVs
- Patch and repair tires; inspect for damage and recommend replacements
- Perform tire rotations and basic tire inspections
- Install and remove wheels and lug nuts; torque to specifications
- Maintain shop cleanliness and organized supplies
- Safely operate tire machines, balancers, jacks, lifts, and air tools
- Provide friendly, professional customer service and explain service recommendations
- Complete work orders and basic paperwork/quality checks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior tire or automotive service experience preferred but willing to train motivated candidates
- Comfortable with physical work: lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, bending, using hand/power tools
- Valid driver’s license is required; clean driving record preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and dependable work attendance
- ASE or tire-industry certifications a plus
- Maine State Inspection a bonus; or willing to obtain
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time, 40 hours/week; Monday – Friday, no weekends
- Pay: $20.00/hour + based on experience
- Overtime per state law
